When author and pet parent Cherie Priest snapped a photo of her dog Lucy looking up at her cats, Spain and Quinnie, she had no idea she’d have a viral sensation on her hands.
On March 17, Priest tweeted out a hilarious three-act play, titled “Lucy, outnumbered by cats.”
Lucy, a 2-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix and the sibling/roommate of the two felines (aged 18 years and 18 months, respectively), was caught in the high-drama moment by her mom.
“I was just hanging out in the den, watching TV …when I saw Lucy waking up from her nap – wedged between the ottoman and the couch,” Priest tells us. “I picked up the phone.” And with that decision, Twitter magic was born:
Priest says that her pets all get along quite well, despite what Lucy’s expressive demeanor might say (and the fact that the cats look entirely unimpressed with her). In fact, Priest says, “She likes the cats a lot, and often plays very cute rough-and-tumble with Quinn.”
The post, which has over 50,000 retweets and counting, has been a fun surprise for Priest and her brood.
“It’s been a hoot, and I’m glad she’s made so many people happy.”
