Summer Treats for Cats

Looking for a new snack to give your cat? We’ve teamed up with Lisa Hennessy from Your Pet Chef to bring you two new recipes—chilled pate and turkey bites—that your cat won’t be able to resist (our feline taste testers were quite the fans!).

Kitty Pate Recipe

This is a nice refreshing treat for your cat. Since it is served cold, it’s a great snack for your feline to enjoy on a hot summer day. The recipe is very simple, but is packed with all sorts of essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids for your cat.

Equipment

  • Food processor
  • Slicing knife
  • Stockpot
  • Measuring cup
  • Spatula
  • Slotted spoon
  • Piping bag, plate
  • Plastic storage bags to store or freeze food

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. cleaned chicken livers
  • 3 cups water

Instructions

  1. Boil chicken livers for about 20 minutes in 3 cups of water. Allow to cool.
  2. Using slotted spoon, place chicken livers in your food processor and puree until smooth.
  3. Place pureed livers into piping bag and make small flowers (about 1 ounce each) on a plate. If you don’t have a piping bag handy, you can simply take a small spoon and scoop out small balls of the liver paste onto a plate.
  4. Place in the refrigerator until solid. Serve.
