Accessorizing with Pet Fur? You Need These Lint Brushes, STAT

I can’t imagine my life without my cats. And thus—as any other cat lady will tell you—I can’t imagine my life without pet fur, either. Hence, my hunt for the world’s best lint brush.

I adopted my little smudge-nosed, pink-pawed Goguma (which means “sweet potato” in Korean) while living in South Korea and dutifully brought her back to the USA with me in 2010. She’s about to turn 12 and is a delightful orange-and-white plump who is a serious snuggler. Meanwhile, Roxie was just a two-pound floof, comprised mostly of hair, when I adopted her from the local humane society last summer. She was spooked by her own reflection and incredibly rambunctious, but eventually grew into a beautiful, regal kitty.

Every day I consider myself lucky to be sharing my home with such fantastic (and fluffy) felines, but that unfortunately means that my home—and everything in it—is, well, covered in cat hair.

Thankfully, however, I’ve learned that being a cat mom doesn’t mean I have to stroll into my barre class wearing fur-covered black leggings, or give the ol’ shoulder shrug and “Sorry about the hairy couch!” speech whenever company comes over. Through putting a bunch of lint brushes to the test and shedding the ones that weren’t up to par, I’ve found the best lint brushes that’ll eliminate pet fur “accessories” from your favorite outfit.

You’re welcome.

Frisco Hair Lint Roller

No reason to mess with a tried-and-true goodie, right? A straightforward sticky lint roller is an absolute must for any pet parent, and this one offers the right amount of stick to get the job done. I keep one near the front entryway in my home, so I can give my outfit a swipe before leaving. And in case I forget, I keep one in my car, too! You can also buy refills, which means you’ll save on cost and reduce waste. $4

Fur-Zoff Pet Hair Removal Tool

I was a little put off by the appearance of this tool when I first saw it, but I appreciated that the brand poked fun at its lack of beauty. The package reads, “It’s not pretty, but it works!” and I found that to be the case.

Instead of a typical brush or sticky-tape remover, this is a porous, lightweight stone (made from 90 percent foamed recycled glass) that fits easily in the palm of your hand. You just run it gently over whatever happens to be covered in fur—be it clothing, carpet or upholstery—and it’ll pick up almost everything in its path. (I've used it on clothes crafted from tougher fabrics without causing any snags, but would hesitate before using it on more delicate pieces.)  $11

ChomChom Roller Pet Hair Remover

I’d seen some pretty enticing advertisements for this particular pet hair remover, but to be honest, I was a bit skeptical. I promise you guys, though, I get way too excited to use this thing. I have zero idea how it works so well (apparently it sweeps up hair through an electrostatic charge?), but it has proven to be the ultimate solution for large areas. That includes my giant couch that the cats have claimed as their own, my bed and—what I’m super excited about—even my rugs! All you have to do is roll it back and forth over the area, and watch the hair buildup disappear. But wait: It gets better! All the fur is collected inside the chamber in the back, which you can easily pop open and scoop out. So satisfying. $32

FURemover Duo Dual-Sided Grooming & Hair Removal Brush

This multi-tasking product is one my cats and I both love! On one side, you have large rubber “bristles,” which must feel ahh-maze-ing because my cats purr like crazy when I use it on them. It does an excellent job of picking up their loose hair—a must during shedding season—and I like that it’s super gentle. My cats have actually recoiled from some of typical metal de-shedding tools, so this is a godsend. (I know every cat is different, but mine like what they like!)

The other side of the brush boasts finer rubber bristles, which are awesome for wicking away pet hair on fabrics, including your clothing. Hellooo, fur-free leggings! $8
